The Champ Shares a Smile

Cafe Vida- The King of Knock Outs meets the littlest knock out on the block. The Foster morning breakfast had an unexpected visit from the greatest fighter of Papa's generation- Mike Tyson. We shared a brief conversation on fatherhood after I approached a man I feared and awed over as a kid; "Champ, can you take a picture with my baby girl and I?" His response, "I would love to."

Adalee's First New Year

Pasadena, January 1, 2009- A 6:30 wake-up call is routine at this point, so why not have Adalee explore the San Gabriel Valley's greatest tradition, the Rose Parade? Especially when a Venti Black-eye from Starbucks, two healthy shots of espresso diluted with black coffee, remedies any remnant of Dad's sleepless consciousness. The Teetzel Clan's fluffy pancakes and warm hospitality were a blessing. Thank you. Special thanks to Todd for being an accomplice in Adalee's first transgression against the Rule of Law- trespassing.

Just an update

Adalee. Adalilly. Adaloo. Ada. "ahh"dalee. However you put it, I love her. Not much changing these days in her life. We're trying to get her to scootch, but when she's lying on her belly and there exists a fascinating piece of stray dog hair on the carpet, why would you want to move? I mean, you can use your finger pinchers to grab that little black hair and stare...and stare...and stare. Surgery is just a few days away (Tuesday the 13th), but as her aunt Carolyn noted that will just make her relate to Harry Potter that much more in the future. Still, lets hope it's not in the shape of a lightning bolt...
